ECHO

The buzzing crowd care not to reply

The fluttering leaves dare not to say goodbye

The road lay flat and infinite

While my heart stutters for a single breathe

The nights spent in jovial company

And days skipping by like a hummed melody

Yet I remain in this widening chasm

Praying not to be unraveled by anybody

Hello…hello…

Who’s there…there …

Voices, anxiety grow

While alas! It is only my echo

Questions crowd up, clouding the clay

Uncertainties, fears crouching to prey

The past care not to say goodbye

The future dare not reply…
